About Me

During a God ordained wilderness season in my life, in 2002, God very distinctly told me that my life mission was to reintroduce Christians to Christ. That is when my own reintroduction journey started.  One where the religious spirit was exposed, one where a works based theology began to crumble and one where my offenses and unforgiveness were brought to light.  I’ve learned along the way, that journey never ends; I am still on that journey…we all are. Since we are all called to discipleship and because we cannot give away what we do not have, we need others to help us.  Vulnerability in community is key to change and so, the following are the ways I was stuck and the ways God led me to freedom.

Ways I was stuck or deceived

  1. Overcome by religious thoughts, ideas, and practices (works-based faith)

  2. Living with unforgiveness

  3. Practicing self-protection and self-preservation

  4. Scared of Abba or Father God

  5. Inauthentic/ fear of man

  6. Pursuing comfort

  7. Addicted to food

  8. Lacking healthy, vulnerable community

  9. Victim mindset with anger expressions (anger issues because of victim mindset)

Ways I found freedom

  1. Confession to God first, then to community

  2. Counseling and coaching

  3. Surrender/yielding to God (humility, being teachable)

  4. Spiritual disciplines

  5. Forgiveness

  6. Worship, Word, prayer

  7. Pushed through fear and doubt rather than avoiding them

  8. Owned my stuff

  9. Stayed in it (perseverance, persistence)

This didn’t happen all at once, it never does.  I became stuck over the years and was led to freedom over the years.  None of us want to be deceived but we all have been.  That is what the journey of sanctification and transformation are all about.

My focus

My passion is to help people get set free from being stuck in repetitive patterns and thinking. I love the journey of unpacking and discovering truth that brings life. This can happen with individuals and well as couples looking for spiritual breakthrough as a family. I’m excited to lead groups that help people find freedom in community - which we were all made for.

Finally, one of my biggest passions and joys is working with pastors, ministers and other Christian ministry workers.  Over the years God has used me to help them find a safe place to process and discuss the weight and traps of serving in a ministry capacity as well as discover what He has next for them. Helping leaders lead is one of the primary calls on my life.

My experience

I started serving in a pastoral ministry capacity over 30 years ago, but for the past 20 years, I have served as a counselor in a homeless and recovery setting, as a pastor of soul care in a church setting and as a pastoral counselor through a Christian counseling ministry. I hold board certified credentials as a Pastoral Counselor with the American Association of Christian Counselors and I am currently working on a Coaching certificate through the same agency. I earned a Masters of Divinity from Beeson Divinity School at Samford University and am an ordained pastor.  It is not only through the ups and downs and the ins and outs of 3 decades of pastoral service that I coach, but I also draw off of my own personal spiritual growth (see my Story). In reality, my story is my experience.  I am confident in what God has done in my life over the last 25 years, and because of this, coaching people to a more free life is personal and deeply rooted in who I am.
